Several Canadian regulators including that of Jason Roy, want Google to follow in the footsteps of facebook and ban all advertising on cryptocurrency and ICO’s. Not only they they want them to go one step further in also banning binary option advertising.
In Google’s opinion, they already ban any misleading advertising and they have no intent to stop ICO or cryptocurrency advertisements.
Canadian officials however, seem to take onthe belief all advertising relating to cryptocurrency is misleading and that one can easily see Google isn’t following their own rules by simply looking at various advertisements related to cryptocurrency businesses.
According to comments made by Jason Roy:
I think everybody is trying to figure out what’s going on. There’s just been an explosion of different ICOs and new tokens and crazy offerings. You’re seeing ICOs that are raising large amounts of money and there’s nothing behind them in certain cases.
